An historical novel with real characters that make it all\nhappen.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The preparation\nstars in September \/ October with the plowing and manually sowing of the wheat\nin the Paduli area on the land behind the \u201cCav. Attilio Cascioli\u201d\nHome for the Age and continues through all its growth phases until the ears\nmature. &nbsp;At the end of July, when the\nwheat has ripened the experienced old growers, with sickle and suitable gear\nharvest the wheat.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once harvested,\nit is processed to obtain the grain from the ears. This is done the old fashion\nway of using a horse or mule with collar and stone (TUFO) in tow. After beating\ndown the land to create a working area, the ears are placed on it to make a bed\nof wheat. The mule, guided by the farmer, walks in circles while its hooves and\nthe stone in tow frees the grain from the wheat ears. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next step is to\nplace the mixture in a container and slowly pour it to allow the wind to blow\naway the straw while the heavier grain portion of the ears falls to the ground.\nTools called \u201cRIAL\u201d and \u201cFARNALE\u201d (screen) are used for sorting\nand cleaning the grain. The precious grain is brought to the mill to be turned\ninto flour. The flour is kneaded into bread and cooked in the straw oven once\nowned by the Farnalar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: the water\nmill renovated by the Municipal Administration, was originally owned by the\nCapobianco family, and then by Luigi Izzo who hired Flavio Capobianco, Expert Miller,\nto operate it.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enclosed video by Mario Zita<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>La festa del grano<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Luglio 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ogni anno a Roseto si fa la festa del grano, voluta\ndall\u2019amministrazione comunale gi\u00e0 da molti anni per far vedere alle nuove\ngenerazioni come si arriva dal chicco al pane. E\u2019 una vera \u00e8 propria novella\nstorica messa in atto da personaggi veri con preparazione gi\u00e0 da settembre\nottobre quando si comincia con l\u2019aratura e la semina del grano in localit\u00e0\nPaduli nel terreno sulla parte posteriore della Casa di Riposo \u201cCav. Attilio\nCascioli\u201d, seguito in tutte le sue fasi di crescita fino alla maturazione della\nspiga, fino a qui \u00e8 tutto quello che avviene anche oggi, nulla di cambiato a\nparte la semina che viene fatta manualmente. Ora, fine luglio, a maturazione\navvenuta gli esperti e vecchi coltivatori, con falce e armamentario adatto\npassano alla mietitura del grano, una volta mietuto si procede a ricavare il\nchicco dalla spiga, questo viene fatto come si faceva una volta cavallo o mulo\ncon collare e pietra lavorata (nome dialettale TUFO) a traino dopo aver ben\nbattuto una parte di terreno, gli si appoggia la spiga a fare un letto e il\ncavallo, guidato dal contadino ci gira sopra e in parte con gli stessi zoccoli\ned in parte la pietra che porta legata a traino caccia i chicchi dal grano, poi\nsi passa alla ventilatura del grano per togliere la paglia e viene passato a\ncernita con un attrezzo che in dialetto si chiama \u201cRIAL\u201de poi con il \u201cFARNALE\u201d\nsono dei setacci appositi per la pulitura del grano, una volta ottenuto il\nprezioso grano, esso viene portato al mulino per renderlo farina (piccola\ndivagazione il mulino ad acqua oggi ristrutturato dall\u2019Amministrazione\nComunale, anticamente era propriet\u00e0 dei Capobianco, passato in propriet\u00e0 a\nLuigi Izzo, condotto da Flavio Capobianco, esperto mugnaio) , una volta\nottenuta la farina viene impastato e cotto dal forno a paglia, una volta\npropriet\u00e0 dei Farnalar.
