L’italiano segue l\u2019inglese.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those who are not familiar with this type of twinning will wonder why the word for multiple children born from the same pregnancy is being used.  Twinning (or sister cities) is a formal means of activating a cultural exchange relationship between two Municipalities. The formal Twinning Agreement is signed by the mayors of the two twinned Municipalities at a public and solemn ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a formal request by Mayor Lucilla Parisi of our municipality, and the completion of the necessary steps to formalize the twinning of Roseto Valfortore, and Roseto Capo Spulico, the two municipalities with the rose in common as their logo were ready to host the event on December 3, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The twinning celebration brought the two municipalities closer in common interests, and the exchange of culture and traditions was celebrated in front of the mayors of the respective municipalities. An exchange of rituals, ideas, and intention to carry on active collaboration was evident in the speeches of the mayors, followed by the signing of the twinning agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The celebration was attended by our City Council, Police Chief, Traffic Chief, fellow citizens, and residents of Roseto Capo Spulico who accompanied Mayor Rosanna Mazzia. The ceremony went on in silence followed by a roar of applause and at the end an exchange of gifts from both sides. It was an unexpected, beautiful ceremony for all of us who were all experiencing it for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roseto Valfortore is a hilltop village in northwest Apulia on the boarder with the Campania Region. It has the privilege of being on the prestigious list of Italy\u2019s most beautiful villages. The town is 650m above sea level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roseto Capo Spulico is a medieval village of 1900 people on the Ionian Sea in Cosenza, Calabria with a beautiful view of the sea below and a spellbinding castle. The town is 217 meters above sea level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il Gemellaggio<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chi non sa cosa sia si chieder\u00e0 cosa sar\u00e0 questa parola che ricorda la nascita di due o pi\u00f9 bambini partoriti dalla stessa gravidanza, ma nel nostro caso il  gemellaggio \u00e8 un mezzo formale per attivare un rapporto di scambio culturale tra due Comuni. Esso prevede la sottoscrizione di un Patto di Gemellaggio che viene firmato in una cerimonia pubblica e solenne dai Sindaci dei due Comuni gemellati.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dopo aver fatto formale richiesta da parte del Sindaco del  nostro comune, Dott. Lucilla Parisi, e dopo aver fatto tutti i passi necessari per formalizzare l\u2019avvenimento del gemellaggio tra il nostro comune, Roseto Valfortore, uno dei Borghi pi\u00f9 belli d\u2019Italia e Roseto Capo Spulico, comune che si trova in Calabria in provincia di Cosenza, paese vicino al mare ad un\u2019altezza sul livello del mare di 217 metri che consente una vista sul mare sottostante al centro storico con un bel castello a picco sul mare, con 1900 abitanti circa. Due comuni che hanno in comune la rosa come simbolo<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Giorno 3 di dicembre, 2023, si \u00e8 celebrato davanti ai sindaci dei rispettivi comuni la celebrazione di questo gemellaggio che avvicina i due comuni negli interessi comuni e nello scambio di cultura e tradizioni.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

C\u2019\u00e8 stato da parte dei sindaci uno scambio di rito, di idee e di intendimenti che si evidenziava nei discorsi preventivi per portare avanti una fattiva collaborazione, dopo di che le firme degli atti di gemellaggio, presenti all\u2019atto il Consiglio Comunale, il Comandante delle forze dell\u2019ordine, il Comandante dei vigili urbani e il pubblico, fatto di residenti di Roseto Capo Spulico che ha accompagnato il Sindaco avvocato Rosanna Mazzia e nostri concittadini che hanno seguito l\u2019andamento della cerimonia in silenzio seguito da uno scroscio di applausi ed in finale uno scambio di doni da ambo le parti. Cerimonia bellissima e per noi inaspettata essendo la prima volta per tutti.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
