2017 Mother’s Day

Saturday May 13th was our opportunity to get together to celebrate Mother’s Day.  In honour of the women, we encouraged the men to serve and clear tables, although some of the women couldn’t help themselves, and helped out as always.

In addition to the group picture above we tried to get pictures of all our mothers and children, however old they may be, and in some cases we managed to get three generations together.

General pictures from the event are below.  Each mother received a gift at her place setting.  The pasta, which some nicknamed Polish Pasta, had sauce made from smoked (Polish) bacon and cured cheek muscle from pigs, which lent the sauce a slight hint of smoke.  The vegetables, in addition to the peas, were a stir fried mix of peppers, egg plant, zucchini and onions.
